--- Peoples Republic of China gives 800 metric tons or 16,000 bags of rice to typhoon Yolanda victims in Cebu and Bohol.

Part of the implementation of the
program is the ceremonial turnover held yesterday March 12 at the NFA GID
Warehouse, North Reclamation Area, Cebu City.
Gracing the event are Dept. of
Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Bernadette Puyat, National Food Authority
(NFA) Deputy Administrator for Operations Ludovico Jarina, First Secretary of
the Embassy of China in the PH Zhang Huaying, Director of Int'l Cooperation of
the Ministry of Agriculture in China Ye Anping, APTERR Gen. Manager Nongnooch
Deetae, local officials of Cebu Province and officials from NFA, DSWD and DA in
Central Visayas.
Director of Int'l Cooperation of the
Ministry of Agriculture in China, Ye Anping said he was very pleased
to hand over food to Yolanda victims in Cebu as he personally devotes time to
grace the event.
Anping added that he sincerely hopes
that Yolanda victims can recover very soon and bring their lives back to
normal.
In his message delivered by Usec.
Puyat, DA Secretary Proceso Alcala said that the act of China and APTERR is
such a "heart warmer and spirit lifter" deeds to the victims who are
now trying very hard to bring their lives to normal after being devastated by
one of the strongest typhoons ever recorded that hit the Visayas
Island of the Philippines.
Meanwhile NFA Deputy Administrator for
Operations Ludovico Jarina, said that the Phil. government warmly extends her
sincerest gratitude to China, and APTERR for this act of kindness and
generosity.
Immediately following the ceremonial
turn over is the Launching of the Tier 3 Program in Daan Bantayan as one of the
beneficiary-areas in the province of the Cebu.
DSWD 7 then spearheaded the launching
activity in Daan Bantayan as one of the agencies task to take charge of the
flow of aid distributions to typhoon hit areas.
DSWD 7 Regional Director Mercedita
Jabagat then said, “indeed the delivery of the service lies in good
