CEBU CITY, July 1 (PIA)---The Philippine National Police reminds all policemen to conduct themselves properly as they are now acting on violations posted in social media networks.
In a Memorandum issued by Directorate for Police Community Relations head PCSupt Danilo Contantino, all police personnel are reminded to promote the culture of professionalism at all times.
This after, the PNP had acquired photos captured by netizens and posted in social media, including that of the organization owned Facebook and Twitter Account @PNPHotline.
“However some personnel do not set the best examples when in public view and while performing their duties,” Constantino said in the memo.
Among the violations captured in photos and videos are the non compliance to “Tamang Bihis” policy; improper use of vehicle plates; non-wearing of helmets while riding motorcycle; violation of traffic rules; and non observance of discipline while on duty.
“If these concerns are not properly addressed then our organization will be mocked in public and in the media due to the irresponsibility of the very few PNP personnel,” the memo stated.
Heads of units are reminded to advise their personnel to refrain from committing violations and strictly follow PNP rules or they will be held liable for the violations committed by their men.
Police Regional Office (PRO-7) information officer Psupt Renato Dugan said the higher PNP immediately furnishes them a copy of cops from Central Visayas who were posted on Social media with violations.
The public is encouraged to post their complaints in twitter and facebook accounts of PNP. (mbcn/FCC/PIA7-Cebu)
