Cebu City, Sept 16 (PIA)--The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) recently conducted the “Entrepreneurial and Business Management” course for the 12 agrarian cooperatives Cebu Province.
DAR Central Visayas assistant regional director, Dr. Antonio del Socorro said the three-day training is part of its partnership program that aims to enhance farmers’ cooperative’ technical skills in running the day-today business transactions.
Socorro said these agrarian cooperatives are based mostly in the municipalities of Medellin, Bogo, Carcar , Liloan, Carmen , Naga City, Toledo and Barili, Cebu City.
He said that the sixth DAR-CDA mandatory training course intends to help ARB cooperatives identify the business opportunities for the members and to develop and innovate business and entrepreneurial activities.
This year, there were already five trainings conducted for the agrarian cooperatives in the Cebu province that included Strategic Planning Course, Rules Formation, Basic Accounting for Non Accountants (BANA), Audit Management Course and Parliamentary Procedures.
In 2013, DAR Cebu conducted four training courses; Basic Coop Course, Coop Governance Management, Financial Management, and Leadership Values, to agrarian reform cooperatives in the province.
These trainings form part of the 14 mandatory trainings under the DAR - CDA partnership program thru “Strengthening and Capacity Building of ARB cooperatives”. (PIA7/with reports from Dir. Erlinda Manluctao/PAMRS)
