CEBU CITY, September 17 (PIA)--- Cebu City will make attempts next month to set two world records --- the biggest Zumba event and largest human awareness ribbon.
Livelihood Productions event organizer, Bobot Ramos said they are calling everyone in Cebu to participate in this undertaking that will again put the province into the international map.
On October 18, at the parking area of SM North Reclamation Area, organizers hope to achieve the zumba class with the most number of participants in the entire world.
Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. It started on trending here in the Philippines in 2012.
The event is spearheaded by Zumba Instructors Network of Cebu (ZIN) and Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente.
“This is a once in a lifetime experience and so we call on schools, students, workers, families, join our quest to break the records,” Ramos said.
Because it is timely, they will also attempt to form the biggest Pink human ribbon in support for breast cancer campaign.
Registration is at P250 with a free singlet and P50 for General Admission. Those wanting to be at the VIP area can pay P600 with a singlet and a mug.
Ramos said they are hoping they can get more participants to break India’s record which is more than 6,000 in 2012.
They also make sure that the event will have enough security and medical personnel in place.
Assembly time is at 3 pm while the actual event is ar 5 pm.
Guiness World Record requires all participating individuals to do Zumba Fitness Non Stop for at least 30 minutes.
Cebu City already has a record of conducting the biggest dancesport class in 2010. (mbcn/FCC/PIA-Cebu)
