BSTO re-elects Monreal as prexy, new officers

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol May 13 (PIA) -- The Bohol Society of Tourism (BSTO) re-elected Loon tourism officer Reynaldo Monreal as its president in this year's election hoping to sustain the momentum of his leadership.

Monreal, who is also a poet, playwright and a writer pushed for more aggressive Bohol cultural and heritage tourism. He has alsp reinvigorated Loon Heritage Walk, a tour now included in the Sustainable Environment Tourism for Panglao Project. 
Also elected as Vice President is Catigbian's Tourism Officer and concurrent Sangguniang Bayan secretary Ardissa Estavilla.
Estavilla has been largely credited for the over-all packaging of the Dagook Adventure Tourism Experience, a wholesome family adventure park in Catigbian.
The recent 2013 earthquake however ruined the park, but not after allowing the town to recover its investments and use some of the tourism revenues into other pro-people ventures.
For BSTO Secretary, members elected Flor Pagador of Batuan, the town made famous for the Makapiko River Adventure, the rare Shiphouse and the recent eco-tourism tour offered using organic rice farming culture.
From Maribojoc, the BSTO treasurer is Mary Annie Jabines whose Organic Demo Farm is now making waves with the tourists and specifically the poor communities in town who are now replicating their systems.
Auditor is from tourism town of Dauis: Chris Nistal while Press Relations Officer is Tagbilaran City's Shobel Ligalig. The city is now crafting its heritage tourism blueprint with Ligalig.
For BSTO Board of Directors (BOD) for District 1, elected are Analili Nacorda of Tubigon where Cabgan Island is fast becoming a a bat and birdwatching destination; Lorna Jadulco of Antequera, famed for its baskets, waterfalls and Sikatuna's Ellormino, where the Tree Park is pinning world environmentalists attention.
BOD for District 2 are Annaliza Chua of the famous Cambuhat River Village tours and oyster farms of Buenavista; Talibon's Rachel Sayson where the islands are perfect for hops and seafoods teem, and Lamae Acedo of Ubay, Bohol's Agri-tourism capital.
Elected District 3 BOD are Elizabeth Balaba of Jagna, original home of calamay and black corals; Fred Tutor Janiola of Canumangtad Falls in Candijay and Maria Stella Reyes Salaysay of Dimiao, the place of the centuries old church, Ermita ruins and splendid waterfalls.
