According to DTI
Provincial Director Javier Fortunato, the two-day event from September 8
to 9 intends to share the success stories and positive results of the
project and to inspire other MSMEs on the gains of going green.
“We ensure that the
participants of these events will give them the opportunity to learn from the
experiences of other MSMEs, meet experts who can provide them with information
on greening technologies and update them on programs which will help improve
their company’s competitiveness,” said Fortunato.
ProGed started in 2013
and will terminate in December 2016.
It is designed to enable
MSMEs to adapt to climate change and integrate greening practices into their
businesses to enhance their competitiveness and ensure their sustainability.
On Sept. 8, Fortunato
said the forum will tackle “Green Economic Development” for hotels and resorts
to share its initiatives at Sta. Monica Beach Club.
This will be followed by
match-making between hotel sector and service providers and development
partners to support green economic development in the hotel sector of the
province.
On the second day,
another forum on “Accelerating the Promotion of Green Economic Development”
will also be done for MSMEs.
Discussion on green
practices and technical sessions on environmental hotspots will be held before
the exhibit of greening technologies and products with green financing
programs. (rmn/jct/PIA7-Negros Oriental)
