NEGROS ORIENTAL, Sept. 8 (PIA) – Some 150 transport groups, local officials, and
schools in the province are expected to participate in the Multi-Sectoral Forum
on the use of cleaner alternative fuel and energy technologies on September 13
from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm in Dumaguete City.
The event is
spearheaded by the Department of Energy (DOE) Central Office in partnership
with Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-Negros Oriental to create greater
awareness and appreciation on the importance of cleaner alternative energy
fuels and energy technologies and efficient utilization of energy.
The forum will focus on
automatic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), natural gas vehicle program for public
transport, and market transformation through the introduction of electric
vehicles.
The use of LPG as an
alternative fuel source in the transport sector addresses the air pollution by
vehicular emission.
Indigenous Malampaya

Pushing for

efficient public transport will also highlight the forum with the

aims to deploy 100,000 locally made E-Trikes in key cities and municipalities
nationwide. (rmn/jct/PIA7-Negros Oriental)
