Central Visayas, July 2 (PIA) ---- The Inter – Agency Steering Committee for the National Government’s Career Executive Service Development Program- Public Management Development Program (PMDP) is still opening the nomination for the Senior Executive Class (Batch 3) and the Middle Managers Class (Batch 7) up to July 4 and August 8, 2014 respectively.
This initiative is a purposive, program-based and integrated professional development program for public managers in the third level of the bureaucracy.
Aimed to harness its institutional experience and its mandate to carry out human resource, the program is designed to instill development perspectives and advance management capability in the leadership of the key sectors of the government and the economy.
The program then is seen as a clear direction towards professionalizing the bureaucracy by producing a corps of development-oriented, competent, dedicated and honest government executives.
This is also a leadership initiative under the Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016, overseen by a Steering Committee composed of the National Economic and Development Authority, Civil Service Commission, Career Executive Service Board, Department of Budget and Management, and Department of Finance.
Eminent persons that are highly distinguished in the fields of leadership, development and public service, lead the roster of seasoned mentors who will facilitate learner-centric, highly- interactive, and practitioner-oriented training modules.
The Senior Executives Class will be conducted in 2 week-segments per month over a period of 4 months. This will include an intensive residential training, sensing journey and a foreign study mission.
Scholars have to write a policy paper or management case at the end of the course. Successful graduates will then be conferred a Diploma in Development Management.
The Middle Managers Class designed for “High Performing and High Potential” (HPHP) incumbents of SG 18 to 24 positions and this is delivered in 5 months with working breaks in between.
This comprised two phases-- the Residential Training Phase and Re-Entry Project Implementation and also features a Sensing Journey.
Scholars who complete all the academic requirements of the program will be conferred a Masters in Development Management degree.
Accepted applicants will receive a government scholarship.
