CEBU CITY,
October 26 (PIA)--- The world renowned dancing inmates of the Cebu Provincial
Detention and Rehabilitation Center are now the latest promoters of the Mega
Cebu project.
Very recently, the CPDRC
dancing inmates, who wowed the world with their performances of Michael
Jackson’s songs, added the jingle of Mega Cebu to their list of performances.
Mega Cebu project
information officer Carol Go said the dancing inmates are best to promote
this very laudable project. Mega Cebu is a project of the Cebu Business
Club with the RAFI, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Yokohama,
which aims to enjoin Cebuanos towards a shared future.
The inmates danced
the jingle “Making Waves” first in front of the members of the Metro Cebu
Development Council and guests.
After which local
chief executives led by Cebu Provincial Governor Hilario Davide III and Cebu
City Michael Rama joined the finale as they made the signature sign “Making
Wave”.
The 13 local government
units of Metro Cebu are included in the Mega Cebu 2050 vision. It touches
all aspects of development from socio cultural to infrastructure.
Earlier that day,
the leaders of Mega Cebu Movement had a convergence meeting where a
presentation of a recently conducted survey among the covered LGU’s was
presented.
Based on the
presentation, there were already different plans in the prior years that aimed
to solve problems on water supply, traffic and flooding.
“We already have enough
data and information. What we need is how to link these data for funding and
eventually for its implementation,” according to RAFI head Roberto
Aboitiz and Mega Cebu co chairman.(mbcn/fcc/PIA7-Cebu)
