Eight students in Cebu receive student leadership award

CEBU CITY, May 1 (PIA) --- The Coalition for Better Education (CBE) awarded eight outstanding students from various universities in Cebu with Medal of Excellence awards. 

The awardees are education students who have contributed to the creation of empowered learning communities and met CBE’s standards of being self-sustaining, socially responsible, nationalistic, and globally competitive, among others. 

The awardees were recognized during a presentation and ceremony held April 30 in Cebu City. 

Said students all come from member-universities of CBE. 

The awardees are, namely: Jhon Mark Aroa of University of Visayas; Guian Paulo Godofredo, Cebu Institute of Technology; Joe Mari Ferolino, University of San Jose REcoleters; Chiedezberg Jaca of University of San Carlos; Ronald Ryan Macabinguil of University of Cebu; Brigella Querubin of Dr. Caridad C. Labe Educational Center, Inc.; Luvi Alexa Saceda, Three  H Childhood Academy; and Nhikie Del Socorro, Southwestern University.

CBE grants the award to currently enrolled graduating students in the university taking up education courses and high school students who displayed outstanding leadership. 

Application period for the awards begin every first week of March and October during the Grade Consultation Day. 

Awardees are entitled to receive the CBE Leadership Medal and a certificate of recognition, plus a one-year free membership to the coalition. (RMN/PIA Cebu)
