The  waters of Cabilao island, off Loon is among Bohol's best dive sites. And its romblon mats, bags and accessories are world class. An island that is accordingly umbrella shaped, Cabilao has also some places worth exploring. Take for example its Green Footprint Lagoon, a small lagoon with probably the largest concentration of lato, a type oe edible seaweeds. Then there is the island lake, which is a paradise for migratory birds down on its replenishment stop onwards to their winter migration south of the globe. An old baluarte now acts as a tarde museum where the seashells which are commenly found here are displayed, and so are the traditional fishing gears of the region. Finally, with romblon mat weaving a high grossing alternative livelihood, witness how these palms are transformed into strips, dyed and then wove to create that unmistakable pattern in your bags. The island food is superb. And so is teh dessert: breadfruit cooked in sugar and coconut milk you would swear, if it was not breadfruit, it should be cassava. #JICA #SEPP #BOHOL #ECOTOURISM (PIA Bohol)
