NegOr opens Governor’s Back to School Sports competition

DUMAGUETE CITY, September 8 (PIA) – Negros Oriental Sports Development Program (NOSDEP) in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) recently opened the Governor’s Back to School Sports Competitions in preparation for next year’s Palarong Pambansa.


“The purpose of this sports competition is to prepare the athletes to compete for the Palarong Pambansa,” said NOSDEP coordinator Paultom Paras.

More than 50 elementary and secondary schools in the province are participating in this year’s sports competition.

This is under the sports enhancement program of the province to further enhance the skills of the athletes.

Nine sports have been lined up for the competition, including tennis, swimming, volleyball, basketball, badminton, athletics, table tennis, football, and chess. 

The theme for this year’s sports competition is "Sports for All: Governor’s Back to School Sports Competitions."

Sports events will be held every Saturdays and Sundays at the Praxevilla Tennis Court, Negros Oriental Convention Center Hall, Lamberto Macias Sports Complex, Lorenzo G. Teves Aqua Center, M. Perdices Coliseum. (rmn/jct/PIA7-Negros Oriental with reports from Ronelyn Faith  Vailoces)
