NEGROS ORIENTAL, Sept. 16
(PIA) -- The Energy Development Corporation (EDC) has extended the
invitations to budding or seasoned Negros bands to join the Positive Energy
Battle of the Bands (BotB) competition.
Some
P100,000 is up for grab for the best environmental musical youth group to match
with the bands from Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental.
The
competition is open to all bands from Negros Island who has no existing or
previous recording contract.
To join,
the group need to submit their original composition based on the contest theme
on or before September 25, 2015.

musical composition must be attached with registration form and proof of
residency and sent to positiveenergynegros@gmail.com
These
original songs from the island's best musicians will exemplify how they uphold
positive energy, corporate communication officer Frances Ariola of EDC said.
“Generating
clean, renewable and sustainable power—this is Positive Energy and protecting
our environment is an essential part of it. Positive Energy also means
living with a positive outlook on life,” said EDC Corporate Communications
Officer Frances Ariola.
Entries
will be screened and narrowed down to a maximum of ten from Negros
Oriental and ten from Negros Occidental based on their adherence to the
contest theme and other rules.
Entrants
will be notified through email and text and asked to perform live at the
semi-finals in Bacolod on October 1 and in Dumaguete on October 3.
This round
of live performances will narrow down the finalists to five from Negros
Occidental and five from Negros Oriental.
The
finalists will all compete in the grand finals at the Ninoy Aquino Freedom Park
in Dumaguete City on October 10, 2015.
This big
event that will unveil the island's biggest greening movement is definitely an
occasion that residents from this green island shouldn't miss.
