ORIENTAL, Sept. 10 (PIA) – The
Occupational Safety and Health Network (OSHNET) – Negros Oriental, the training
arm of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Occupational Safety and
Health (OSH), will hold two OSH trainings this month.
On September 14 to 18, OSHNET will
conduct a training on Constructional Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) at
Manhattan Suites Inn, Dumaguete City.
Meanwhile, on September 21 to 25, OSHNET
will hold a training on Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) also on the
same venue.
Said trainings are required by DOLE as part
of accreditation of designated safety officers in establishments.
Attendane to the trainings is also a
compliance to OSH standards in workplaces as mandated by law.
OSHNET is inviting building officials, building
inspectors, contactors, interested private individuals, and representatives
from local government units in the province to attend the trainings.
Engr. Renato Infante, president of OSHNET-Negros
Oriental, said in a Kapihan forum yesterday that BOSH trainings are for
companies with non-hazardous workplace like hotels, broadcast stations, retail
establishments, and other companies that are not involved in construction
business.
On the other hand, the COSH training is a course
designated for those who are involved in the construction sector.
Infante disclosed that these trainings
take forty hours or five days to complete.
