DUMAGUETE CITY,
Sept. 8 (PIA) -- Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NORRPO) strongly
condemns the bombing attack in Davao City recently causing fatalities, serious
injuries, and damage to properties.
“We are sending our
condemnation in the form of disseminating information and intensified
campaign against all forms of criminality that undermines the
self-determination of our people and tranquility of the nation,” Acting
Provincial Director PSSupt. Nestor Tiempo said.
To heighten the campaign
against terrorism, each police station in the province is required to conduct
dialogue among the different members of the community.
The residents are also
encouraged to support the endeavor in making the community aware of the threats
posted by the lawless elements of the society.
With this, the police
office here has intensified the drive by distributing “Anti-Terrorism Flyers”
and conduct dialogues or pulong-pulong focusing on bomb threats in the
barangays.
The dialogues also
include other forms of criminal acts believed to be the appropriate move to
enhance the vigilance and watchfulness of the people.
Tiempo urged the public
to report immediately the presence of any suspicious looking persons
and bags or backpacks that are left unattended in public places or
public conveyance and in any event where people wear excessive clothing.
NORPPO has tightened
security around the province with the active support of the community to
provide the public a safe and secure place. (rmn/jct/PIA7-Negros Oriental)
