10-hour blackout in Bohol on Sunday

BY: ELVIRA C. BONGOSIA

BOHOL, May 28 (PIA) --- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has scheduled a power interruption for the entire Bohol Island on Sunday, June 1, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

This is to facilitate technical routine in tapping a new line for Bohol at the Corella sub-station.

Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion.

NGCP’s customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption.

The ten-hour blackout on Sunday is intended to pave the way for preparatory works for the energization of the Bohol Backbone Transmission Project (BBTP) and various maintenance works.

NGCP’s P1.19 billion expansion of the BBTP is in preparation for the increasing demand of power supply in the entire province.

The new Corella sub-station houses one 100-megavolt ampere transformer, one 138-kV power circuit breaker, and corresponding accessories to serve as alternative drawdown substation of the Ubay sub-station.

This will reduce Ubay’s sub-station’s load in such a way that it will serve as a new power delivery point. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
