Ombudsman Visayas calls for NGA's quick response to public needs

Central Visayas, April 29 (PIA) --- The Office of the Ombudsman Visayas urged government agencies to improve their response on public assistance as one of the key responsibilities.


In the Association of Government Information Officers (AGIO-7) forum today, Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas Pelagio Apostol said that efforts are already made to make the public aware of the agencies that can help them.

Binuksan na natin ang mata ng mga tao na may mga ahensya na makakatulong sa kanila (We are already making the public aware of the agencies that can help them)," he said. 

Apostol added that public servants should bear in mind that not all people are given the opportunity to serve the public, thus public service must be considered as privileged with great responsibility to others.

He stressed that it is a big privilege to serve the public and that entering the government service does not promise a better salary at all but serving the public is a great opportunity.

Apostol is also calling for public servants to perform well in their respective responsibilities and be one with their agencies in giving right, exact, and prompt services to the public. (rmn/AYS/PIA 7)
