NNC-7, CTU launches ‘Radyo Kahimsug Goes Online’

CEBU CITY, Sept. 23 (PIA) -- The National Nutrition Council (NNC-7) with the Media Information Network for Nutrition and Development (MIND-7) and DYNE 97.5 FM Radio Kahimsug in partnership with Cebu Technological University (CTU) recently launched the “Radyo Kahimsug Goes Online” in CTU Barili Campus, Cebu.


Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator of National Nutrition Council (NNC-7) Dr. Parolita Mission said the project aims to widen the reach of disseminating radio materials.

The materials feature "health and good nutrition through the worldwide web that could enriched the public to practice proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle."

“This is also a way to strengthen the advocacy on nutrition and health information dissemination by reaching out the netizens thorough the internet radio,” she continued.

Mission encouraged CTU and Community Radio Council officials to maintain and sustain the program because this is an avenue for nutrition, music and information in reaching out to the target audience – the online visitors and the listening and browsing public.

CTU Barili Campus Director Dr. Genes Pasaje expressed gratitude to NNC-7 for the support given in order for this project to become a reality.

In his speech, he couldn’t imagine that this community radio is now online. He challenged everyone involved to double their efforts in promoting social development through this internet radio.

Barili Mayor Teresito Mariñas also encouraged his fellow Barilinians to listen to DYNE and let it become a household name for Barili.

Radyo Kahimsug’s desire is to service Barili with the latest information about the town, the province, the nation and the world.

The event was attended by MIND-7 officers, National Nutrition Council officials and other health officials, local government officials, local Department of Education officials, CTU school officials, faculty, and students.

Before the recent launching of the internet radio ended, the induction of the officers of the Community Radio Council was also held at CTU Barili Campus with Mary Jane Pañares inducted as Chairman and Dr. Catalino Higida as Vice-Chairman.(rmn/hfg/PIA-7/NNC-7)
